There had been quarries in the region for a long time when
in 1915, the first industrial processing plant was constructed by Karl Teich in Essing.
In the years to follow, other quarries were built and
in 1935, new factory buildings were constructed in Kelheim.
In 1986, the company was absorbed by Heidelberger Zement.
In 1998, four committed staff members prevented decommissioning
and founded Kelheimer Naturstein GmbH.
In 2002/2003, the compay bought quarries in Kelheim, Wachenzell und Kirchheim,
in 2004, G. Gallenberger, W. Hoffmann, M. Plank took over management.
In 2011, new machines for surface finishing were bought and
in 2016, the outdoor facilities were enhanced and mondernised.
In 2017, Dr. M. Gallenberger took over management from his father.
Currently, there are about 60 staff members employed.
